We all crave a sense of control—over our choices, our timing, even the way life unfolds. But what if real freedom comes not from holding tighter, but from surrendering to something greater than ourselves? This month, my oracle cards and Human Design reminded me that trust, faith, and Divine partnership, and shedding my masks, are where true peace begins.
I’m a daily oracle card user. Pulling cards is woven into my morning journaling ritual. For the last two months, I’ve been drawing three cards at the start of each month to guide my reflection with these questions:
- What is my anchor card for the month?
- What do I need to know to be deeply connected to Spirit as my ally?
- What can I not see that I need to know as I move through this month?
Interestingly, both months the second card—the one about connection with Spirit—has been Masks. From my Dragonfly Journey Oracle deck it was #31, and from The Shaman’s Dream deck it was Many Masks. That repetition gave me pause.
My anchor card for August was Discovery—an invitation to go deep and uncover my true self. And yet, alongside it came the reminder of how often we hide behind masks. How many do we wear in our daily lives? What are we afraid to reveal? And why would this message show up in response to Spirit’s call for deeper partnership?
That question shifted my perspective. It became less about who I was hiding from the world and more about how much I was hiding from my own Higher Power. Faith. Trust. Vulnerability.
I also pulled Surrender and Self-Sabotage several times throughout August, reinforcing the message. Together, the cards made it clear: my lesson was about learning to trust God and trust myself. Because once you can do both, there’s freedom – freedom from worry, stress, and the illusion of control.
Quantum Human Design affirms this. We are born perfectly designed, yet life’s conditioning leads us to create masks to protect the true self—masks of “acceptable” behavior, achievement, or silence. The work is to return to authenticity and purpose (Gate 1), embrace deep self-love (Gate 10).
Quantum Human Design also shows us that the authentic self has a strong connection to Spirit, your Higher Power. Gate 22 is the Gate of Surrender. Gate 25 is the Gate of Spirit. Gate 54 is the Gate of Divine Inspiration. Gate 55 is the Gate of Faith.
Together, these gates reveal a Truth: it’s not about control, it’s about Divine timing.
This month I began a new journal. On the first page I wrote three words:
Accept. Allow. Embrace.
Accept that I’m not in control, but in partnership with the Divine.
Allow Spirit to move in its own timing and form.
Embrace life as it comes, while recognizing where my own self-sabotage tries to interfere.
Is it easy?
No. But the more I practice, the more peaceful I feel. My relationship with the Divine deepens, giving me hope and grounding me in purpose.
This is the gift oracle cards give me: a doorway into deeper self-reflection, with Human Design as the blueprint that keeps me aligned. In a world that feels chaotic and uncertain, the best thing you can do for yourself is to know your SELF—your deepest, truest self.
Because when you do, the masks fall away, and Spirit finally has space to shine through.
