Faith. Trust. Balance. Opportunity. Oh my! How am I doing on all this?

Intentional spiritual journeys are amazing to take, if one is open and willing to go where the path takes you. I committed to mine on January 1st of this year and with the close of this first quarter of 2022 it’s time to do a little assessment. I share this with you in the hopes that it might be inspirational for you on your journey to your highest self.

My 2022 word is “Faith” and with that comes “Trust”. These two words have popped up over and over again in my daily card pulls. It’s gotten to the point that when I see these words, I’m like “Okay. Okay. I’m working on it” and then I look at where more work is needed. I’ve discovered that I worry and begin second guessing myself instead of bravely moving forward with my original design. Now, I am beginning to catch myself when it starts and tell my insecure self that worrying is opposite of faith and trust so let it go. And then I say The Serenity Prayer. It helps.

Balance has always been a challenge for me. It’s also part of my vision board for the year. I tend to get do focused I just keep on going and then, poof! The day has slipped on by and I didn’t get things done I had planned to. Even as I write this I have a list of 5-6 items that need attending – and they’ve been on my to-do list for a few weeks now. Things like find new car insurance, go get my glasses prescription, things like that. Balance is more than the work-play aspect. It also means attending to things I need to and not keep putting them off. New commitment needed – if it is on your to-do list for the day, do it!

Opportunity. I have been open to opportunity and a few very cool things came forward already this year. I am co-writing a book due out this spring. I had my first live event on the 19th of this month. I am partnering for another event in June. I have scheduled my crystal course to start next month. The Wheel (yes, that card came up in my reading for my vision board) is turning, bringing movement into my year thus far, opening up paths I may not have considered. Next steps? Nurture my connections and relationships – by reaching out more will come my wa.

This month, I added a new photo to my vision board. I did a reading for myself and this card appeared. I spent some time really looking at the image. I felt myself as the little girl, descending the dark stairs, moving towards the beautiful castle in the bright light with a rainbow over it with a look of curiosity on her face. Think the Emerald City of Oz except it was in lavender. At the portal was a tree arched over the doorway with butterflies and fairies on it. There were face of ancestors in the stone pillars at the left of the card, watching over her as she moved along. I took this as a good sign that I am on the path towards my own transformation from someone who doubts, needs control, worries and second guesses to someone who remains curious, trusts and seeks opportunity. Reminder: say the Serenity Prayer every day – and mean it!

I now see the value of vision boards. Each time I look at it, a different image or word pops out for me and I am reminded of what I want to accomplish this year. It has helped me stay focused. Generally, these are done at the beginning of the year. I think they would be a good practice at your birthday too as you begin a new year of life.

So now, what will the second quarter bring? If I have faith, it will be magical, bringing me opportunities. My work is to be balanced in my daily life. Believe in myself and my guardian spirits who are here to help me on my journey.

Notes: The bold italicized words are all on my vision board. They remain important markers for 2022. The card deck in the photograph is the Whispers of Healing oracle deck by Angela Hartsfield.
