As if the big energies of Pluto in Aquarius and the tug-of-war between Gates 60 and 41 weren’t enough for 2025 (see my previous newsletter of 1/6/25), there are also four other huge Human Design gate energies in play for 2025:

Gate 36 – Crisis. Crisis brings chaos and challenges to growth which is necessary for coming to clarity. It is about moving through the emotions that come with crisis to learn about yourself. Learning comes through the difficult times because when you take the time to explore it, you come to know yourself better and make the changes you need for your highest good.

Gate 22 –  Innocence. This gate brings the energies of trusting in the flow of abundance that comes from Spirit. It is having the patience and grace to pause and listen openly, both inward and to others. It is taking the time to explore your own emotions to come to clarity.

Gate 25 – Spirit of the Self.  This gate brings the energies of connecting to the Divine Universe and strengthening one’s faith in Universal order. At the high expression, it is learning about your higher self and coming to appreciate your unique purpose in this lifetime.

Gate 63 – Doubt. Here the energy is about not knowing, of questioning in order to learn, to evolve through doubt. It’s not blind acceptance of what you have been told but questioning to learn for yourself to come up with innovative solutions to what isn’t working. Become ready to pay attention to and question what makes you feel insecure until it can be understood and evaluated. Doubt is the essential ingredient for innovation.

Both the North Node and Saturn spend most of the year in these gates. They’re gates that bring doubt and crisis along with calm and reflection as we look to become our higher self.

Once again it seems there are energies of push and pull, outward expression and inner reckoning. 

What can this mean for you?

North Node

The North Node is about looking to the future. It is the maturing theme. We flip flop between crisis and calm introspection and so this is a year to embrace the challenges that come to you and see what you can learn from them. 

We start the year in Gate 25 focusing on our higher self and relationship with Spirit. Begin the year by connecting to your higher self, set your vision, and engage in practice to help you remain true to you. 

By the end of the month, the North Node enters Gate 36, the Gate of Crisis and remains there through mid-June. Meet the challenges of change and growth through emotional crisis, learn to gain emotional clarity and learn how to stay out of crisis, learning to adapt to changing feelings.

On 6/14, it moves to Gate 22, the Gate of Grace and Openness. Here it’s a respite, with time to listen, to connect, to share, to be open and integrate what you’ve experienced. This is a gate of kindness, of understanding your feelings and those of others. It is patient energy.

 You’ll have this introspective period until November when Gate 63’s energies appear and brings an energy of questioning, trying to figure things out. Doubt is necessary as it brings about questioning which is what precipitates change in ourselves and how we interact with the world.

Saturn

These gates are also dominant with Saturn spending the year in them as well. Saturn is the teacher, the planet that brings us lessons that need to be learned. 

Saturn starts in Gate 63 and moves to Gate 22 by the end of the month where it remains until mid-March. What lessons can you learn from doubt and questioning? This is a first, pause and reflect stage of the year regarding lessons to be learned. With all of the upheaval that has been happening, this gives you a chance to find the lessons that came from it.

On March 17, Saturn moves in Gate 36 till early May, moves into Gate 25 on 5/7 and then returns to gate 36 on 9/24.  It’s a movement from doubt and questioning to introspection, to facing challenges that might impact this reflective growth cycle, followed by another time of introspection to come to your higher self only to be followed again by a crisis of are you sure about all this.

Saturn in these gates makes this a year of intensive internal growth – if you’re willing to do the work.

When we add these energies to Pluto’s, it looks to be a year of intense emotion, introspection, exploration of that introspection, and back again, all designed to move you forward in your personal evolution to your authentic self.

Saturn ends the year in Gate 37, the Gate of Harmony beginning 12/22. It feels like a jagged year with ups and downs and intensity but by year’s end, Saturn allows you to integrate all this learning with a focus on building harmony and inner peace. Just as the dreams of a world of universal justice and innovation comes from Pluto’s time in gates 60 and 41, Saturn’s intense journey through gates 63, 22, 36, 25 and back to 36 brings you to a place of deeper knowing and dreams for peace within and for all.
